Dusk Dances Barrie Postponed to 2021

Wendy Hutchinson, Holly Goulding, Madison Grewal, Lexi Cooper, Jaqui Brown, Sydney Whittaker, and Eligh Zimmerman in "A Little Faster, Here We Go," facilitated by Chirssy Baxter and Shelby Thoms. Premiered at Dusk Dances Barrie 2019 with the support of the Ontario Arts Council

We hope that this message finds you in good health and good spirit and that you are finding joy and happiness in small and bigger ways during these unprecedented times.

Like so many, Dusk Dances Barrie and Dusk Dances Inc. have been watching closely the development of the spread of COVID-19 and its impact on our lives and on society. Given the uncertainty of the next couple of months, and Toronto being in lockdown until at least the end of June 2020, we are sad to announce that our July 2020 event - Dusk Dances Barrie - has been postponed to July 2021.

SCD has presented Dusk Dances Barrie annually since 2017 at Lampman Lane Park, in Barrie. We love presenting this event in our hometown because it is an occasion for us to raise visibility, create awareness, and build educational opportunities in contemporary dance, and to share our love of our art form with the public. We are heartbroken not to be able to bring Dusk Dances Barrie to our community for the fourth year and for the lost opportunity for the performers, choreographers, community participants, and audience.

We are sending kind thoughts to you and yours and we hope to be back in 2021 with the same exciting program that we had prepared for you this year.
