Happy International Dance Day!

Happy International Dance Day!

Today we are reflecting on the reason we dance and why community is at the heart of what we do. This video explains the science behind the experience of dancing together.

Sociologist Émile Durkheim set out to find a scientific explanation to understand: What glues societies together in spite of our differences? Part of the answer led him to coin the term "Collective Effervescence" and dance is an accelerator of this force.

Interested in being part of our collective movement project? Come on out to our Community Dance Piece - Information Sessions. The first meeting is tonight at 6:30pm at Lampman Lane Community Centre. Let's move together!
