What The Audience Doesn't Know

This weekend marked an incredible kick-off to The Simcoe Contemporary Dancers new season. There was a myriad of festivals and events in Barrie this  that SCD had the pleasure of participating in, including Carnegie Days, Art Ce Soir, and Culture Days.

What the audience doesn’t know is that many of the dancers had not had the privilege of performing together before. Recent auditions held for the 2013-2014 season added several new movers to the company roster, and there were some incredibly fabulous guests artists as well.

What the audience doesn’t know is that the SCD auditions were followed by an intensive rehearsal and training period in order to prepare for these performances.

What the audience doesn’t know is that the passionate artists who performed this weekend have journeyed and connected with one another in a very unique way, in a very short time.

What the audience doesn’t know is that after the culture and art inspired weekend was through, a beautiful dialog occurred between the dancers and choreographers.  It was an exchange of sentiments of their experiences moving together through space and time over the weekend.
