In collaboration with the Downtown Business Association, Barrie’s Department of Culture and other Barrie businesses, the Lakeshore Mews galleries, studios, and shops will be organizing Art ce Soir III; a late-night contemporary art event in celebration of Culture Days and tribute to the Nuit Blanche phenomena.

From 7:00 pm on Saturday, September 28th until 2:00 am on September 29th, 2013, artists will transform Lakeshore Mews into an engaging place of art, whether it be visual, musical, theatrical or literature. Barrie residents and tourists alike will be invited to encounter the downtown in a new way and rediscover the city through a series of indoor and outdoor events and site-specific installations.

Our intent is that this evening of culture will once again bring the art community together to offer both the uninitiated and devoted art lovers an accessible and exciting night of contemporary art. In its third year, this is an opportunity to celebrate and showcase Barrie’s growing art community and our city’s commitment to arts and culture.

SCD is on at 10pm performing our piece entitled “Strange Oasis” adapted for outdoors as well as other works arrived at through community improvisation games and source material acquired from “choreographers” 3-13 years of age.
