Culture Days Activities

This weekend Canada will be hopping from coast to coast to coast with Arts and Culture activities. Barrie has a lot going on and here is what we're up to:


September Youth Workshops

FREE workshops for youth 14 to 24 exploring how visual art can translate into movement in partnership with the MacLaren Art Centre.

SCD will be working under the creative guidance of Nancy Pottage to create and perform


Strange Oasis: 
An exploration through dance and spoken word of the causes and cures, blights and benefits of night wakefulness  

To be developed over the course of the event with input from spectators.

The presentation of the work will be at 11:00pm ... but you should come down early to watch us work and participate by giving your input!!!

SCD will perform a series of dance works including one choreographed with members of the MacLaren's Youth Advisory Council in response to the visual art in the MacLaren's photography collection on view in the Carnegie Room.
