I don't know if it's today's theme or the fact that I heard some big band music on the radio, but I'm compelled to tell you about my Grandmother - the late great Edna Baker.
In 2006 and 2007 there were a slew of weddings in my family. All of the cousins were getting hitched and each wedding reception brought with it the chance to dance with Grammy!
Walker and all she'd hit the dance floor and we'd laugh and dance have a great time!
I remember leading up to my wedding she'd tell me she was getting shape by dancing in her room for an hour each day. When the big day arrived, the DJ threw on "Little Brown Jug" and we showed the crowd what's what.
She looked and moved twenty years younger on the dance floor!
Factoid:
A study in the New England Journal of Medicine found that Dancing was the only physical activity associated with a lower risk of dementia.
