Modern Dance: The Science behind the Art with Guest Instructor - Katie Felix

This workshop will have a focus on dynamic and expressive movement, but will also explore healthy movement patterns, optimal alignment and awareness of individual ways of moving.  We will explore articulation of the shoulder girdle, spine, hip and ankle as well as use imagery to encourage proper biomechanics of these joints. Using aspects of modern dance technique, alignment principles and injury prevention strategies, dancers will learn how to use their body’s design to move efficiently, dynamically and healthily.
