Simcoe Contemporary Dancers in the community!

SCD joins the BAC
Simcoe Contemporary Dancers are pleased to announce that Artistic Director Sarah Lochhead has been invited to join the Barrie Arts Council. “I’m truly excited to be involved as an advocate for our local arts community and give a voice to dance on the council,” said Lochhead. Her first meeting as part of the Barrie Arts Council is scheduled for this Thursday.  To learn more about the Barrie Arts Council visit:

He’s Back!
Santa arrives at Bayfield Mall on Friday Nov. 12 @ 7pm

SCD, along with guest artist Glenn Coulson, will be performing Jay9 Dance Projects’ piece Wound About (Jannine Saarinen) - A whimsical piece where Professor Winklebottom showcases his Automatons; Sabrina the ballerina, Thomas the toy soldier and Snuggles the clown. This event will also mark the world premiere of The Littlest Sugar Plum (by Sarah Lochhead) the tale of a Sugar Plum Fairy in training who gets more than she bargains for while guarding the coveted Sugar Plum wand.  All in celebration of Santa’s annual arrival!

Nantyr Shores Secondary School
1146 Anna Maria Ave, Innisfil, ON

This annual event has students of Nantyr Shores Secondary School working together with Royal Victoria Hospital to help support the hospital, and also help fund sports activities for local teens. While the students are spinning on stationary bikes, there will be plenty of entertainment. SCD will be performing Betty’s Bench (Sarah Lochhead) and Swim Girl Swim (Jesse Dell). This will mark SCD’s Innisfil debut!
