Be part of our art

Dear Arts Lover,

On behalf of Simcoe Contemporary Dancers, I’d like to invite you to be part of our art!

As Simcoe County’s only professional contemporary dance ensemble, our goal is to raise visibility and participation in our art form by: providing intermediate to advanced classes/workshops; creating and performing meaningful and engaging dance works; and providing public access to dance through performances/community involvement.

Our first season was a whirl wind of activity! We participated in a variety of performances ranging from last summer’s site-specific project through downtown Barrie, (where we literally “danced in the streets”), to performing as part of the Second Annual Barrie Arts Awards. We have also participated in children’s events like Santa’s Coming at Bayfield Mall and performed in-kind for events like Village of the Arts in Orillia, The CIBC Run for the Cure and Celebrate Barrie.

As we delve into our second season, we are proud to have a line up of nine pieces of repertoire by six exciting and talented contemporary choreographers!

Project grants are but one piece of the pie that help turn ideas into audience experiences. In order to sustain ongoing activity beyond our recent summer creation period, we require additional support from avid arts lovers like you.

What’s in it for me?
Besides our deepest gratitude you will also receive:
• Your name/logo on our blog under “sponsors” (hyperlinked if applicable)
• Your logo in our Facebook album of sponsors (if applicable)
• Your name/company name and website “Tweeted” to our dedicated followers

*please note donations are not currently eligible for a tax receipt.
