In process: Betty's Bench (post 2 - Sarah Lochhead)

I have always wondered why as a society we discard our elderly and shuffle them off to homes. I view Betty as old and wise. A lady who has lived a unique life filled with gem like stories of her first ride in an automobile, life before indoor plumbing, the moon landing, JFK's assassination and so on. She has so much to tell us if we took the time to ask her.

I remember a trip to Honest Ed's in Toronto where I helped an elderly woman carry her little buggy up the stairs only to discover she was the worlds oldest living Rockette! We sat on a bench on the landing and she told me about life on Broadway in the 40's. She and Betty would have got on quite well I think.
